Islamic Association Of Teachers Of Iran
The Islamic Association of Teachers of Iran ( fa, انجمن اسلامی معلمان ایران) is an Iranian reformist teacher's political organization/labor union. Most members of the association are employees of Ministry of Education. Members According to its official website, the union was established by Mohammad Ali Rajai, Mohammad Beheshti and Mohammad Javad Bahonar before the revolution. Former MPs Goharolsharieh Dastgheib, Ateghe Sediqi, Morteza Katiraie, Abbas Duzduzani are members of the association. Former Minister of Education Hossein Mozaffar is also a member. Ateghe Sediqi ( fa, عاتقه صدیقی, born Pouran Rajai on 2 September 1943) is an Iranian politician and human rights activist who was the wife of former Iranian President of Iran, President Mohammad-Ali Rajai. She was also a member of Iranian Parliament from 1981 to 1992. Career Pouran Rajai was born on 2 September 1943 in Qazvin, Iran. She renamed to Ateghe Sediqi in 1975 because of his activities during Iranian Revolution. She accompanied her husband in activities against Pahlavi regime. She also helped Rajai in the establishment of Refah School and managed the school after her husband entered politics. 1979 Revolution
The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. The revolution was supported by various leftist and Islamist organizations. After the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, Pahlavi had aligned with the United States and the Western Bloc to rule more firmly as an authoritarian monarch.
