Isla Sarah Thomson (born 27 July 2004) is an English cricketer who currently captains Wiltshire, as well as playing for Western Storm. She plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. Domestic career Thomson made her county debut in 2018, for Wiltshire against Buckinghamshire. She became captain of Wiltshire ahead of the 2021 season. She was Wiltshire's joint-leading wicket-taker in the 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, with four wickets at an average of 21.75. In the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, she was Wiltshire's leading run-scorer, with 132 runs at an average of 26.40, including scoring 62 * against Dorset. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. The 2023 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the fourth edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket 50-over domestic competition, which took place between 22 April and 24 September 2023. Northern Diamonds are a women's cricket team that represent the traditional areas of the North East and Yorkshire, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at Headingley, the Riverside, Roseworth Terrace and North Marine Road. They are captained by Hollie Armitage and coached by former England cricketer Danielle Hazell. The Dorset Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Dorset. An all-rounder is a cricketer who regularly performs well at both batting and bowling.
