Isidoro Cañones
Isidoro Cañones is a fictional character from Argentine comics, created by Dante Quinterno. He was created as a supporting character of Patoruzu, but got his own comic book afterwards, which is periodically reprinted. The character is often referenced as a "playboy", but only with the meaning of a man seeking leisure and a high-society lifestyle, without references to sex. The character has been used in a 2007 animated movie. Publication history Before the creation of Isidoro, Quinterno created other characters of a similar style. The first one was ''Manolo Quaranta'', for the "''La Novela Semanal''" magazine. It was followed by ''Don Gil Contento'' and ''Julián de Monte Pío''. This last character was usually involved in games, horse races and nocturnal life, and had Patoruzu as a supporting character. José Isidoro Gómez Torres (born 1 August 1986), known simply as Isidoro, is a Spanish former professional footballer, currently assistant manager of Norwegian club IK Junkeren. Mainly a right-back, he could play occasionally on the other flank. Isidoro Carini (7 January 1843, in Palermo – 25 January 1895, in Rome) was an Italian religious, teacher, historian and palaeographer. Biography He attended the Jesuit college of Palermo and wanted to enter that Order, but was hindered by his father Giacinto Carini, who had participated, as battalion leader, in the action of the Thousand in Sicily, being wounded in Palermo. Pia Carini, Isidoro's younger sister, married the archaeologist Alfonso Bartoli and Alfonso 's sister, Maria, married Alfonso Battelli: Giulio Battelli, paleographer and historian, was born from the marriage. Isidoro Diéguez Dueñas
Isidoro Diéguez Dueñas (19 January 1909 – 21 January 1942) was a Spanish bricklayer who joined the Spanish Communist Party, fought in the Spanish Civil War (1936–39) and went into exile. When he returned from Mexico to Portugal he was arrested by the police and handed over to the Spanish authorities, who executed him. Early years Isidoro Diéguez Dueñas was born in Puertollano, Ciudad Real on 19 January 1909. In 1924 he joined the Union of Bricklayers in Madrid, and in 1932 became a member of the Spanish Communist Party (''Partido Comunista Español'', PCE). He was named delegate for the ''Radio Sur'' union. In the Spanish Civil War he fought on the Somosierra and Guadarrama fronts, and in the headquarters in Montaña, Getafe and Cuatro Vientos. Isidoro Bianchi called da Campione (20 July 1581, in Campione d'Italia, Lombardy – 5 December 1662) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. Biography He studied under Pietro Francesco Mazzuchelli. He excelled in fresco painting for the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio at Milan and in different churches at Como. The Duke of Savoy chose him to finish a grand hall at Rivoli, which had been left unfinished by the death of Mazzuchelli. Bianchi was afterwards made painter to the Court, and was knighted in 1631. Isidoro Dias Lopes (30 June 1865 – 27 May 1949) was a brigadier general of the Brazilian army, often styled the "Marshal of the Revolution of 1924". Early life Lopes was born in the city of Dom Pedrito, Rio Grande do Sul, on 30 June 1865, son of José Tavares Bastos Rios and Jacinta Barros Lopes. Isidoro Acevedo (born Isidoro Rodríguez González; 2 January 1867 in Luanco, Spain – 1952 in Moscow, Russia) was a Spanish politician, trade unionist, activist and writer who participated in the founding of the Communist Party of Spain. Acevedo began working as a typographer's apprentice at the age of thirteen in Madrid, where he had moved with his family three years before. In 1898, he moved to Santander, where he became president of the Socialist Federation. Because he had a major role within the party, highlighted by his debate as a socialist representative against anarchist Emilio Carral, he was called upon by the socialists of Bilbao to be the editor of the newspaper ''La Lucha de Clases'' (Spanish: ''The Class Struggle'').
