Ishikawa Prefectural Museum Of Art
, also known as IPMA, is the main art gallery of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is one of Japan's many museums which are supported by a prefecture. The collection includes some of the prefecture's most important cultural assets and works by artists with some connection to the region. It is located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa within the grounds of the Kenrokuen Garden. The gallery was first opened in 1959. When the collection outgrew its original building, a new facility was constructed. The current structure was completed in 1983. The museum has a large permanent collection; and only part of it is exhibited at any one time. The core collection includes significant works from the Maeda family collection which had been previously housed in at the University of Tokyo.Lillehoj, Elizabeth. (2007). is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chūbu region of Honshu island. Ishikawa Prefecture has a population of 1,140,573 (31 October 2019) and has a geographic area of 4,186 km2 (1,616 sq mi). Kenrokuen Garden
Kenroku-en (兼六園, Six Attributes Garden), located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, is an old private garden. Along with Kairaku-en and Kōraku-en, Kenroku-en is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. The grounds are open year-round except for December 29 through January 3 during daylight hours and famous for its beauty in all seasons; an admission fee is charged. History Kenroku-en was developed from the 1620s to the 1840s by the Maeda clan, the '' daimyōs'' who ruled the former Kaga Domain. Maeda Ikutokukai
The foundation is a public interest corporation (公益法人) established on February 26, 1926 for the management and preservation of the cultural heritage of the Maeda clan, rulers of the Kaga Domain. It is located in Komaba, Meguro, Tokyo. The collection is centered on written materials including ancient documents or Japanese and Chinese books but also contains crafts items such as swords, armour or household items. The writings held by the foundation are known as which is also used as an alias for Maeda Ikutokukai.
