The Isard Pistol is a semi-automatic pistol that fires the 9x23mm Largo from a Blowback operated system. It was designed and produced by the ''Comisión de Industrias de Guerra'' (CIG ) (''War Industry Commission'' in English), by orders of the Generalitat of Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War, from 1937 to 1938. History The Isard pistol was designed by the CIG and some exiled Basque gunsmiths. It was ordered and approved by the Generalidad de Cataluña, and was put into production. Total production was approximately 300 units. Design Stylistically, the Isard's design resembled the M1911. Interactive geometry software (IGS) or dynamic geometry environments (DGEs) are computer programs which allow one to create and then manipulate geometric constructions, primarily in plane geometry. In most IGS, one starts construction by putting a few points and using them to define new objects such as lines, circles or other points. After some construction is done, one can move the points one started with and see how the construction changes. Walter Isard
Walter Isard (April 19, 1919 – November 6, 2010) was a prominent American economist, the principal founder of the discipline of regional science, as well as one of the main founders of the discipline of peace studies and Peace economics. Life and contributions Born on April 19, 1919 in Philadelphia, Isard graduated with honors at the age of 20 from Temple University. He next went to Harvard University, studying under Alvin Hansen and Abbott Usher, who stimulated his interest in location theory. Isard left Harvard in 1941 without taking a degree, moving instead to the University of Chicago, where he studied under Frank H. Knight, Oscar Lange, and Jacob Viner. In 1942, Isard obtained a position with the National Resources Planning Board, in Washington, D.C., while completing his dissertation on building cycles and transportation development.
