''Isang Ugat, Isang Dugo'' (Filipino: "One Vein, One Blood") is the eighth studio album by Filipino rock band Rivermaya, released on October 10, 2006, through Viva Records. Except for original track "Isang Bandila (One Flag)", it is a covers album featuring songs by Filipino artists in the 1980s, including The Jerks, Joey Ayala, and Wuds. ''Isang Ugat, Isang Dugo'' was the final album recorded featuring Rico Blanco as founding member and songwriter. "Isang Bandila" was used as the theme song for ABS-CBN's late-night television program ''Bandila'' from 2006 to 2018. The album went platinum in March 2007. The Jerks
The Jerks is a rock band from the Philippines formed in 1979, and perhaps, is the original alternative rock and blues band in the country. The band has undergone a lot of member changes and notably a lot of the previous members of the band are now certified icons themselves in the music scene. Members like Chickoy Pura, Nitoy Adriano, Jun Lopito, Angelo Villegas, and others have carved names in their respective niches. Other performers who have played with the Jerks are former Put3ska drummer Brutus Lacano as a session musician, and drummer Benjie Santos. Despite having been formed in 1979, they only released their debut record in 1994 entitled ''The Jerks Live'', released under Gary Granada's Backdoor Records. Raimund Marasigan
Raimund Emmanuel Parcon Marasigan (born May 22, 1971) is a Filipino rock musician and record producer. His first name is often misspelled ''Raymond'' or ''Raimond'' though he personally prefers to spell his name as Raymund. The breadth of his projects has made him one of the most well-respected mainstays of the Philippine rock band scene. Anna Katrina Dumilon Nadal-López (born September 16, 1980) is a Filipina singer-songwriter who was formerly the lead vocalist for the alternative rock band, Mojofly. Japs Sergio
John Paul "Japs" Ricafranca Sergio (born August 20, 1979) is a former bassist/vocalist/guitarist/songwriter of the Filipino band Rivermaya and the current guitarist/vocalist/frontman for the band Peso Movement. Career Sergio joined the band in April 2001 as a session member when he took over the role of Nathan Azarcon, who left the band in February 2001. When Kakoy Legaspi and Mike Elgar joined in May 2001, Sergio was officially absorbed and the band began recording for "Tuloy ang Ligaya". Their first performance under their new lineup was at NU Pocket Concerts in Alabang Town Center on June 2, 2001. Known to many as Japs, Japsuki, and JP, is actually a drummer. Mike Elgar
Michael Maximino C. Elgar (born May 8, 1976) is a Filipino musician currently performing as a guitarist and one of the lead vocalists for the band Rivermaya. He has been the band's longest serving guitarist, ever since he joined in May 2001. Music career At the age of 10, he learned to play guitar. When he was 13 years old, he already formed a band and played his first gig and in 1992 (15 years old), he is already a national guitar champion. Mark Edward Penabella Escueta (; born 9 January 1976) is a Filipino musician and one of the founding members of the Filipino rock band Rivermaya. Escueta has been the only constant member of Rivermaya since its inception in 1994. Early life Escueta is the eldest of four siblings. He has two younger brothers and one sister. ''Bandila'' () was a Philippine television late-night news program broadcast by ABS-CBN with simulcast worldwide via TFC, Originally anchored by Korina Sanchez, Henry Omaga-Diaz and Ces Oreña-Drilon.
