Isac von Krusenstierna (born 14 January 1998) is a Swedish orienteering competitor who represents the club OK Kåre. Biography Krusenstierna won a gold medal in sprint at the 2021 World Orienteering Championships in Doksy, ahead of Kasper Fosser Kasper Harlem Fosser (born 1999) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor who represents Norwegian club IL Heming and Swedish club IFK Göteborg (sports club), IFK Göteborg. Orienteering
Orienteering is a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points. Originally a training exercise in land navigation for military officers, orienteering has developed many variations. Among these, the oldest and the most popular is foot orienteering. World Orienteering Championships
The World Orienteering Championships (or WOC for short) is an annual orienteering event organized by the International Orienteering Federation. The first World Championships was held in Fiskars, Finland in 1966. They were held biennially up to 2003 (with the exception of 1978 and 1979). Since 2003, competitions have been held annually. Participating nations have to be members of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF). Originally, there were only two competitions: an individual race and a relay. In 1991, a short distance race (roughly 20–25 minutes) was added and a sprint race was added in 2001. The middle distance (roughly 30–35 minutes) replaced the short distance in 2003. Junior World Orienteering Championships
The Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) are an annual orienteering competition. They were first held in 1990. Entry is open to national teams aged 20 and below as of 31 December in the year of competition. Representative countries must be members of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF). Doksy
Doksy (german: Hirschberg am See) is a town in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,200 inhabitants. It is known for Lake Mácha and its summer vacation resort. Administrative parts Villages of Břehyně, Kruh, Obora, Staré Splavy, Vojetín, Zbyny and Žďár are administrative parts of Doksy. Vojetín forms an exclave of the municipal territory. Kasper Harlem Fosser (born 1999) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor who represents Norwegian club IL Heming and Swedish club IFK Göteborg (sports club), IFK Göteborg. Career Fosser won a silver medal at the 2019 World Orienteering Championships in Østfold, and has won gold medals in both long distance, middle distance and relay in the Junior World Orienteering Championships. He won a gold medal in long distance at the 2021 World Orienteering Championships in Doksy, and silver medal in the sprint at the same championships, behind Isac von Krusenstierna. Fosser won the long distance, held near Heřmánky, in a time of 1:35:55, ahead of Matthias Kyburz and Magne Daehli.
