The National Assembly of Quebec (officially in french: link=no, Assemblée nationale du Québec) is the legislative body of the province of Quebec in Canada. Laporte (electoral District)
Laporte is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It was created for the 1973 election from parts of Taillon and Chambly. It was named after former Liberal Minister Pierre Laporte who was kidnapped and killed by militants of the Front de libération du Québec during the October Crisis in 1970. In the change from the 2011 to the 2017 electoral map, it will gain the area around the Champlain Mall from the riding of La Pinière. Nicole Ménard (born December 27, 1948 in Saint-Constant, Quebec) is a Quebec politician. She was the Quebec Liberal Party member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Laporte in the Montérégie region from 2007 to 2022, serving as Minister of Tourism when her party was in power. She studied at the École des hautes études commerciales de Montréal and the ''Centre international de recherches et d'études en management'' in business administration and strategic management before taking an Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University in Chicago. Menard has worked at the Bank of Montreal since 1967 and was the director of the bank's regional division in Montreal North. She has been the vice-president of the bank since 1995. She has headed several foundations and received several awards for her work. 2022 Quebec General Election
The 2022 Quebec general election was held on October 3, 2022, to elect the members of the National Assembly of Quebec. Under the province's fixed election date law, passed in 2013, "the general election following the end of a Legislature shall be held on the first Monday of October of the fourth calendar year following the year that includes the last day of the previous Legislature", setting the date for October 3, 2022. The Coalition Avenir Québec increased its parliamentary majority in the election. The Liberals dropped to their lowest seat count since 1956 and recorded their lowest share of the popular vote in their history; however, they remained the official opposition. CHAA-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Longueuil, Quebec, near Montreal. It broadcasts on 103.3 MHz using a directional antenna located on the tower of the Olympic Stadium with an average effective radiated power of 64 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 263 watts ( class A). The station operates under a community radio licence and identifies itself as "FM 103,3". Despite being near Montreal and having its transmitter, but not its studios, in the city, the station is focused on Longueuil and as such does not attempt to serve Montreal listeners, even though CHAA-FM does have some listeners there as the station's signal is adequate in many parts of the city.
