Isaac Ledyard (November 5, 1755 or 1754 – August 28, 1803) was a physician and politician from New York. Life He was born in Groton, Connecticut, the son of Youngs Ledyard (1731–1762) and Mary (Avery) Ledyard (1730–1787). He was Health Officer for the Port of New York. Groton is a town in New London County, Connecticut located on the Thames River. It is the home of General Dynamics Electric Boat, which is the major contractor for submarine work for the United States Navy. The Naval Submarine Base New London is located in Groton, and the pharmaceutical company Pfizer is also a major employer. 1800 United States Presidential Election
The 1800 United States presidential election was the fourth quadrennial presidential election. It was held from October 31 to December 3, 1800. In what is sometimes called the "Revolution of 1800", Vice President Thomas Jefferson of the Democratic-Republican Party defeated incumbent president John Adams of the Federalist Party. The election was a political realignment that ushered in a generation of Democratic-Republican leadership. Adams had narrowly defeated Jefferson in the 1796 election. Aaron Burr
Aaron Burr Jr. (February 6, 1756 – September 14, 1836) was an American politician and lawyer who served as the third vice president of the United States from 1801 to 1805.
