Isaac Cathcart and Isaac Cathcart (1845–1909) was a well-known businessman and Snohomish County, Washington, pioneer. Cathcart was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1845. He was the son of Isaac F. and Charlott (Bushfield) Cathcart. He migrated to the Pacific Northwest, settling in the area now called Cathcart after him. There, he was a local logger, hotel-keeper and county treasurer. He ran the Snohomish Exchange Hotel. He was one of the organizers of the Snohomish Skykomish and Spokane Railway and Transportation Company in 1891. His large land holdings were purchased by C.D. Cathcart is a census-designated place (CDP) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,458 at the 2010 census. Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Cathcart ranks 45th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked. Cathcart was named for Isaac Cathcart, a lumberman, entrepreneur, and Snohomish County pioneer. Geography Cathcart is located at (47.852603, -122.105802). Clarence Dayton Hillman
Clarence Dayton Hillman (1870-1935) was a prominent businessman and real estate developer in Seattle, Washington at the beginning of the 20th century. Born in Birmingham, Michigan, his parents both died before he was ten years old. Quitting school after the second grade, he and his brother sold newspapers in Chicago, Illinois before heading west in 1891 to seek their fortunes in California. Hillman headed north to Seattle in the late 1890s as the city was recovering from the Panic of 1893. Soon after his arrival the Klondike Gold Rush brought a surge of visitors and commerce to the area. By purchasing large tracts of land that had been recently logged around the city, and then sub-dividing that land and selling it to individuals, Hillman soon became one of the most successful businessmen in Seattle. Clearview, Washington
Clearview is a small unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,324 at the 2010 census. Clearview is located on both sides of State Route 9, where it intersects 180th Street SE (once known as Vine Street) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located between Snohomish and Woodinville and the top of the Clearview Hill. History Clearview was established on timberland that once belonged to Isaac Cathcart and had been logged by the Snohomish Logging Company. Clarence Dayton Hillman obtained the logged property and platted it in 1913 as Cathcart Division #1. There were no roads in the area, so Mr. Hillman eagerly offered right-of-way when the Snohomish Fruit Growers Association sought a shorter route to Seattle.
