Iryna Stavchuk
Iryna Ivanivna Stavchuk () is a Ukrainian writer, ex deputy minister and climate policy advisor. She was recognized as one of the BBC 100 Women in 2023. Life Stavchuk was born in about 1982. Stavchuk's education included studying ''Ecological and Economic Monitoring'' at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in Kyic. After she graduated she went to Sweden where she took a post-graduate course in ''Ecology Management and Policy'' at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics. She began work at the National Environmental Center of Ukraine where she worked on climate related policies. She was helping to organise Ukraine's response to climate change and she worked with the United Nations with their negotiations concerning climate for over a decade. In 2008 the World Bank established a ''Clean Technology Fund''. Stavchuk has served on that fund's board of directors. ''100 Women'' is a BBC multi-format series established in 2013. The annual series examines the role of women in the 21st century and has included events in London and Mexico. Announcement of the list is the start of an international "BBC's women season", lasting three weeks including broadcast, online reports, debates and journalism on the topic of women. Women around the world are encouraged to participate via Twitter and comment on the list, as well as on the interviews and debates that follow release of the list. Oksana Stefanivna Zabuzhko ( uk, Окса́на Стефа́нівна Забу́жко) is a Ukrainian novelist, poet, and essayist. Her works have been translated into several languages. She has been accused of relativising the Volhynian Massacre Life Born 19 September 1960 in Lutsk, Ukraine. The writer's father, Stefan (Stepan) Ivanovych Zabuzhko (1926-1983) was a teacher, literary critic, and translator, the first to translate the stories of the Czech composer and writer Ilja Hurník into Ukrainian, and was repressed during Stalin's regime. According to Zabuzhko, she received her philological education at home. The repressions against the Ukrainian intelligentsia that began in September 1965 forced the family to leave Lutsk, and since 1968 she has lived in Kyiv. Olena Petrivna "Lena" Rozvadovska () is a Ukrainian children's rights advocate. Early life and career Rozvadovska grew up in western Ukraine. Until 2015, Rozvadovska worked in Kyiv as a consultant for UNICEF and for the Ukraine President's Office as a public advocate for children's rights. Activism In 2015, after the Russian annexation of Crimea, Rozvadovska quit her jobs, moved to Slovyansk, and became a volunteer working to support children and their families in the " gray zone" of Ukraine, including Donbas.
