Irwin Ávalos Bonilla (born 13 June 1991) is a Mexican basketball player for Plateros de Fresnillo and the Mexico national team. Professional career Ávalos returned to his hometown and joined the Águilas Doradas de Durango ahead of the 2017 CIBACOPA season. Ávalos signed with the Reyes de Durango of the Circuito de Baloncesto del Pacífico (CIBAPAC) ahead of the 2023 CIBAPAC season. Ávalos signed with the Plateros de Fresnillo in August 2023. The Mexico national basketball team () represents Mexico in men's international basketball competitions, The team has made 6 appearances in FIBA World Cup and 5 appearances in the Summer Olympics. The Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit ( or CIBACOPA), officially known as the Liga Chevron CIBACOPA for sponsorship reasons, is a ten team basketball league based in Northwestern Mexico. The matches take place from March to June. History A league with the same name existed in the 1980s, and the second incarnation was founded in 2001. The charter members were Caballeros de Culiacán, Delfines de Mazatlán, Frayles de Guasave, Lobos Marinos de La Paz, Paisas de Los Cabos, and Pioneros de Los Mochis. Caballeros de Culiacán won the inaugural league title by defeating Delfines de Mazatlán four games to none in the finals. The 2019 season saw a total attendance of more than 220,000.
