Jacques Higelin
Jacques Joseph Victor Higelin (; 18 October 1940 – 6 April 2018) was a French pop singer who rose to prominence in the early 1970s. Early life Higelin was born on 18 October 1940. His father, Paul, a railway worker and musician of Alsatian descent, introduced his two sons to various forms of music, while his mother, Renée, of Belgian descent, raised them both. Career Higelin's entertainment career began at age 14, when he left school to work as a stunt double. While playing a number of minor roles in motion pictures, Higelin was taught to play the guitar by Henri Crolla, a French-Italian jazz guitarist and a composer of film scores. By the early 1960s, Higelin was attending the René Simon drama school, where he won the François Perier award. ''BBH 75'' is the fourth album by French rock singer Jacques Higelin, released in 1974 on the Pathé Marconi label. It is a radical departure from his previous works with the Saravah label, as it is entirely a rock album. The album would bring Higelin commercial success and critical recognition from French rock circles, and the album is considered influential on the future of French rock. History The title of the album is the initials of the three musicians from the album: Charles Bennaroch, Simon Boissezon and Jacques Higelin. The album was initially titled ''BBH 74'', but as it was released near the end of 1974, it was finally retitled ''BBH 75''. A rare promotional vinyl released back then bore the original title. French Rock
French rock is a form of rock music produced in France, primarily with lyrics in the French language. French rock was born as early as mid-1950s, when writer, songwriter and jazz player Boris Vian wrote parody rock songs for Magali Noël or Henri Salvador. Although Vian despised rock and wrote these songs as attacks, they are highly acclaimed by French critics today and considered precursors. The first real French rock acts emerged at the end of the decade and in the beginning of the 1960s, with Johnny Hallyday achieving the most long-lasting success, while other acts like Les Chaussettes noires, led by other French rock star Eddy Mitchell, and Les Chats sauvages (led by Dick Rivers) contributed to the emergence of the genre, the last band writing the first real classic French rock song, ''Twist à Saint-Tropez''. Louis Bertignac (; born 23 February 1954) is a French guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. An ex Shakin' Street member and a founding member in 1976 of the rock band Téléphone, he formed Bertignac et les Visiteurs after Téléphone split in 1986. Tony Visconti produced his first solo album, ''Elle et Louis'' (1993) and Chris Kimsey the second, '' '96''. In 2004, he produced, arranged and played guitar on the debut album by Carla Bruni, ''Quelqu'un m'a dit''. Bruni in turn contributed lyrics to 10 of the 12 songs on Bertignac's 2005 album ''Longtemps.''
