Marduk is a Swedish black metal band formed in Norrköping in 1990. The band released their debut full-length album, '' Dark Endless'', in 1992 on No Fashion Records. Their name is derived from the Ancient Babylonian deity, Marduk. History Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson, the band's guitarist, formed Marduk with the intention of being the "most blasphemous band in the world". Black metal is an extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Common traits include Tempo#Beats per minute, fast tempos, a Screaming (music)#Black metal, shrieking vocal style, heavily distorted Electric guitar, guitars played with tremolo picking, raw (Lo-fi music, lo-fi) recording, unconventional song structures, and an emphasis on atmosphere. Regain Records
Regain Records was a Swedish-based independent record label. The label predominantly released death metal and black metal albums. Regain Records was founded from what remained of the former label, Wrong Again Records, by Per Gyllenbäck in 1997. Wrong Again Records had such bands as In Flames, Cryptopsy, Arch Enemy, and Naglfar among its ranks. Regain Records' first two releases were Deranged's '' High on Blood'' and Embraced's '' Amorous Anathema'', in late 1997. In the first two years of operation, business for the label was slow, due to lack of proper distribution. It was not until Regain Records re-released the first two in Flames albums, ''Lunar Strain'' and '' Subterranean'', which were previously released under the name Wrong Again Records, that the label began to prosper. ''Serpent Sermon'' is the twelfth studio album by Swedish black metal band Marduk. It was released in North America on 5 June 2012 through Century Media Records on CD, vinyl and digital download. A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove.
