	Iris And The Lieutenant ''Iris and the Lieutenant'' ( sv, Iris och löjtnantshjärta) is a 1946 Swedish drama film directed by Alf Sjöberg and starring Mai Zetterling, Alf Kjellin and Åke Claesson. The film boosted Zetterling's international profile. Shortly afterwards she moved to Britain to make '' Frieda'' (1947). The film is adapted from a 1934 novel by the same title, written by Olle Hedberg. 	Alf Sjöberg Sven Erik Alf Sjöberg (21 June 1903 – 17 April 1980) was a Sweden, Swedish theatre director, theatre and film director. He won the Palme d'Or, Grand Prix du Festival at the Cannes Film Festival twice: in 1946 for ''Torment (1944 film), Torment'' ( sv, Hets) (part of an eleven-way tie), and in 1951 for his film ''Miss Julie (1951 film), Miss Julie'' ( sv, Fröken Julie) (an adaptation of August Strindberg's play which tied with Vittorio De Sica's ''Miracle in Milan''). Despite his success with those films, Sjöberg was foremost a stage director, perhaps the greatest at Dramaten (alongside first Olof Molander and later Ingmar Bergman). He was a First Director of Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre between 1930 and 1980; he staged there many remarkable and historic productions. 	Stig Järrel Stig Järrel (8February 19101July 1998) was a Swedish actor, film director and revue artist. Järrel was one of the most popular actors in Sweden during his career, and also one of the most productive, participating in a total of 131 films. He also performed as an actor at various Swedish theatres and was a frequent guest on radio and television. Biography Stig Järrel was born Stig Ohlson in Malmberget in northern Sweden in 1910. In 1929, he was admitted as a drama student at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm, and worked later for actor Gösta Ekman.
