Irina Voronkova
Irina Andreyevna Voronkova (russian: Ирина Андреевна Воронкова; born 20 October 1995) is a Russian volleyball player. She is part of the Russia women's national volleyball team and was part of the national teams at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, the 2015 Montreux Volley Masters, the 2015 European Games in Baku, the 2016 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix in Thailand, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. At club level, she played for Dinamo Moscow, Dinamo Kazan and Zarechie Odintsovo before returning to Dinamo Kazan for a second spell in 2016. Personal life Voronkova was born into a family of volleyball players. Her father Andrei Voronkov is a retired player and former national coach, her mother Svetlana Anatolyevna and sister Anna also played for local clubs. Volleyball At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament in volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics was the 14th edition of the event at an Olympic Games, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 6 to 20 August 2016. China won their third gold by defeating Serbia in the final. The United States won bronze by winning against the Netherlands. The European Volleyball Confederation (french: Confédération Européenne de Volleyball or ''CEV'') is the continental sports governing body, governing body for the sports of volleyball, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, and snow volleyball in Europe. 2016–17 Women's CEV Cup
The 2016–17 Women's CEV Cup was the 45th edition of the European CEV Cup volleyball club tournament, the former "Top Teams Cup". Format The tournament was played on a knockout format, with 36 teams participating. Initially 22 teams were allocated vacancies to enter the competition, with 8 of them directly qualified to the 16th Finals on the basis of the latest CEV European Ranking List. 14 teams came from the CEV Women's Champions League qualification entering the competition at different stages (as per 'Round composition' below). On 30 June 2016, a drawing of lots in Varna, Bulgaria, determined the team's pairing for each match. Each team plays a home and an away match with result points awarded for each leg (3 points for 3–0 or 3–1 wins, 2 points for 3–2 win, 1 point for 2–3 loss). 2013–14 CEV Women's Champions League
The CEV Champions League was the highest level of European club volleyball in the 2013–14 season and the 55th edition. It ran from 22 October 2013 until 16 March 2014. Dinamo Kazan from Russia won the tournament and qualified for the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship after defeating VakıfBank İstanbul 3–0 in the final. Russian Women's Volleyball Super League
The Russian Women's Volleyball Super League, is the highest professional women's volleyball league in Russia. It is organized and administrated by the Russian Volleyball Federation. History The dissolution of the Soviet Union in late 1991 brought an end to all sports leagues played in the Soviet Union, including the Soviet Women's Volleyball Championship. The national league was created by the Russian Volleyball Federation as a continuation of the Soviet Championships. The 1991–92 inaugural season had the participation of clubs based in the Russian Commonwealth and Yugoslavia. From the second season onwards only clubs based in Russia were allowed to compete.
