Irene González (footballer)
Irene González Basanta (26 March 1909 – 8 April 1928) was a Spanish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Irene Fútbol Club, which she founded. She is credited as the first woman in Spain to play football professionally, and among the first anywhere. Early life González was born near Campo de la Leña near the Monte Alto neighborhood of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain, and raised in the Orillamar neighborhood. As a child, she would join football matches played by boys in the streets or the fields of A Estrada. Her father was a police officer who did not approve of her youthful inclination toward football, and by some accounts would drag her screaming away from a match. By 1924, her parents, brother, and nephew had died, orphaning her to the care of her older sister, Delfina, and her brother-in-law, Delfina's husband. Esther Sullastres Ayuso (; born 20 March 1993) is a Spanish football goalkeeper who currently plays for Sevilla FC in the Primera División. Before joining FC Barcelona in the 2012–13 season, Sullastres played for UE L'Estartit. She has been on the Under-17 and Under-19 Spanish national youth teams. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by '' Mycobacterium tuberculosis'' (MTB) bacteria. Tuberculosis generally affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body. Racing Club de Ferrol is a Spanish football team based in Ferrol, Province of A Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia. Ricardo Zamora
Ricardo Zamora Martínez (; 14 February 1901 – 8 September 1978) was a Spanish footballer and manager. He played as a goalkeeper for, among others, RCD Espanyol, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. As an international he played for both the Catalan XI and Spain. As a manager, he won two La Liga titles with Atlético Aviación and briefly managed Spain. Zamora, nicknamed ''El Divino'', was noted for wearing a cloth cap and a white polo-neck jumper on the field, a look later copied by several of his contemporaries. He claimed it was to protect him from both the sun and his opponents. As a goalkeeper, he was primarily known for his athleticism, quick reflexes, shot-stopping abilities, large frame, and bravery in goal. Betanzos
Betanzos () is a municipality in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain in the province of A Coruña. It belongs to the comarca of Betanzos. In Roman times Betanzos was called Flauvium Brigantium or ''Brigantium''. During the Medieval period the settlement was known as ''Carunio''.
