Irene Chang
Irene Mary Chang Oi Ling (, born 10 March 1965) is a Malaysian politician. She served as the Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly for Bukit Assek from June 2016 to November 2021. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. Background Born in Bau, Sarawak, Bau, Kuching, Chang is the daughter of former SNAP Treasurer-General, businessman Datuk Seri Paduka Denis Chang Foh Onn, and the wife of Wong Ho Leng, the latter was the former Member of parliament, Member of Parliament for Sibu (2010–2013) and former Member of the State Legislative Assembly for Bukit Assek (1996-2001, 2006–2014). The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. The Sarawak United Peoples' Party, or SUPP (; ms, Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak; Iban: ''Gerempong Sa'ati Rayat Sarawak'') is a multiracial centre-right local political party of Malaysia based in Sarawak. 2021 Sarawak State Election
The 2021 Sarawak state election, formally the 12th Sarawak general election, took place on 18 December 2021. This election was to elect 82 members of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 3 November 2021. As the previous assembly first sat on 7 June 2016, it was originally set to be dissolved automatically on 7 June 2021.
