Irene Bridger
Irene Bridger is a gospel musician from Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. She has worked with audio engineer Dean Stairs. ''A Heart Full of Love'' was her first album. In 2005, she released her second album, ''You''. The title track from this album was written by Ada Jenkins, a friend of Bridger. Bridger's album ''Living Prayer'' was nominated in the Inspirational Album of the Year category at the 2007 Covenant Awards. She was featured on ''Hope in the Midst of a Storm'', a 2008 album produced in support of the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Also in 2008, she performed at Gander Pentecostal Church as part of MusicNL's annual awards and conference. She was nominated for the title of Female Artist of the Year at the 2010 MusicNL awards. Twillingate
Twillingate is a town of 2,121 people located on the Twillingate Islands ("Toulinquet") in Notre Dame Bay, off the north eastern shore of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The town is about north of Lewisporte and Gander. Incorporated on September 30, 1965, the town of Twillingate includes such localities as Back Harbour, Bayview, Durrell, Gillard's Cove, Jenkins Cove, Manuel's Cove, and Wild Cove. The Twillingate Islands provide an excellent sheltered harbour and easy access to the rich fishing grounds nearby. Twillingate Island is connected to mainland Newfoundland via the Walter B. Kellie Loder
Kellie Loder (born 1988) is an independent singer-songwriter from Newfoundland who plays drums, guitar and piano. They have released three albums: ''The Way'' in 2009, ''Imperfections & Directions'' in 2010 and ''Benefit of the Doubt'' in 2018. With a voice that St. John's-based newspaper ''The Telegram'' has described as "powerful yet serene and soulful", they received critical recognition from Canada, including a nomination at the Juno Awards. Having written their first song at age 16 about a cousin who died in a traffic accident, Loder was studying nursing at the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland when they released ''The Way'' in August 2009. Music Of Newfoundland And Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador is an Atlantic Canadian province with a folk musical heritage based on the Irish, English and Cornish traditions that were brought to its shores centuries ago. Though similar in its Celtic influence to neighboring Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador music is more Irish than Scottish and has more elements imported from English and Cornish music than those provinces. Newfoundland music, while clearly Celtic and seafaring in its orientation, has an identifiable style of its own.
