The Eurovision Young Musicians 1996 was the eighth edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians, held at Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal on 12 June 1996. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP), musicians from eight countries participated in the televised final. Out of the 22 countries, 14 did not qualify to the final, including the host country Portugal. The Eurovision Dance Contest was an international ballroom dancing competition that was held for the first time in the United Kingdom on Saturday 1 September 2007. The contest was similar in format to the long-running Eurovision Song Contest and was organized by both the Eurovision association and the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF). The IDSF credits the existence of the contest to Richard Bunn of rbi network, Geneva, former EBU controller of sport, who convinced the EBU to create the programme. Format and general information The competition consisted of pairs of dancers from each participating country, each pair performing one dance, a freestyle dance in which the cultures of the individual countries could be showcased to the rest of Europe. The Eurovision Young Musicians 2022 was the twentieth edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians. It took place at the Corum in Montpellier on 23 July 2022. The live show was hosted by French playwright Judith Chaine and Belgian radio presenter Vincent Delbushaye, with the Montpellier Occitanie National Opera Orchestra conducted by Pierre Dumoussaud. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), this edition was co-hosted by French broadcasters Radio France and France Télévisions, as part of a summer series of music events called Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier. Musicians representing nine countries with EBU membership participated in the contest, with Austria and host country France returning. Cora Venus Lunny (born 1982) is an Irish violinist, composer, singer, and actress. She is the daughter of Irish musician Dónal Lunny and German photographer Julia Buthe. Finghin Collins (born 31 March 1977) is an Irish pianist. He won first prize at the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Vevey, Switzerland, in 1999. Studies and competitions Collins studied with John O'Conor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and with Dominique Merlet at thConservatoire de Musique in Geneva, Switzerland. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Dublin City University in 1999 and a ''premier prix avec distinction'' from the Conservatoire in Geneva in 2002. The Eurovision Young Musicians 1986 was the third edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians, held at the Koncerthuset, in Copenhagen, Denmark on 27 May 1986. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), musicians from five countries participated in the televised final.
