Iranduba
Iranduba is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. The population of Iranduba in 2020 was 49,011 and its area is 2,215 km², making it the smallest municipality in Amazonas in terms of area. It is located south and west of Manaus on the right bank of the Rio Negro and the left bank of the Solimões River. It is connected to Manaus by the Manaus Iranduba Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge which opened in 2011. The municipality contains about 21% of the Rio Negro Right Bank Environmental Protection Area, a sustainable use conservation unit that controls use of an area of Amazon rainforest along the Rio Negro above the junction with the Solimões River. Manaus Iranduba Bridge
The Journalist Phelippe Dahsou Bridge ( pt, Ponte Rio Negro) is the fourth longest bridge in Brazil at long with a cable-stayed bridge section of 400-metre (1,132 ft) over the Rio Negro that links the cities of Manaus and Iranduba in the state of Amazonas in Brazil. It spans the Rio Negro just before its confluence with the Amazon River, and is the only major bridge across the Amazon or any tributary in the Amazon basin. Its construction was marked by controversy over the potential effects of roadbuilding in the Amazon basin, which could lead to deforestation. A 2018 study found that the construction of this bridge did induce deforestation. The Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve ( pt, Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável do Rio Negro) is a sustainable development reserve (RDS) in the state of Amazonas (Brazilian state), Brazil. Solimões () is the name often given to upper stretches of the Amazon River in Brazil from its confluence with the Rio Negro upstream to the border of Peru.
