Iran Film Foundation
The Iran Film Foundation is a non-political UK unregistered charity with a mission to promote and preserve the cinematic history of the Persian speaking world. The remit of the Foundation is specific and is only related to cinematic history, television history and the moving image. The Foundation covers the late nineteenth century to the present day. The Foundation achieves its objectives by organising and supporting lectures, cultural events and conferences, for archivists, and by supporting publications and museum programs. The Foundation is funded by contributions from trustees and patrons and by various fund-raising events. The Foundation does not accept financial support from any Government, Semi-Government organisations or lobbying groups. The IFF is governed by a body of trustees supported by a Film and Moving Image Committee. Persian Theatre
Persian theater ( fa, تئاتر ایرانی) goes back to antiquity. The first initiation of theater and phenomena of acting can be traced in ceremonial theaters to glorify national heroes and legends and to humiliate the enemy, as in the classics "Soug Sivash" and "Mogh Koshi" (Megakhouni). Ancient Persian theatre and dance was significantly researched by the Greek historian Herodotus of Halikarnassos, who lived during the Persian rule in Greece. Bagh-e Ferdows
Ferdows Garden ( fa, باغ فردوس ) is a historical complex located in the district of Tajrish in Shemiran (northern Tehran), Iran. The complex dates back to the reign of the Qajar dynasty, and includes a mansion which houses the Cinema Museum of Iran since 2009. Etymology By the time of the Achaemenid Empire, the term ''pairidaēza'' (Avestan) referred to extensive gardens built all over the empire. It derived from Proto-Iranian ''paridaiźa'', literally meaning "circular boundary". London Iranian Film Festival
London Iranian Film Festival is an annual, independent film festival held in London. It is the only festival in the UK that is dedicated to Iranian independent cinema. The London Iranian Film Festival is organised by a non-political, film-focused organization UKIFF, which aims to provide a platform for Iranian cinema in the UK. The Festival showcases films that consistently explore Iranian culture and identity. Submissions to the festival are looked over by a panel of filmmakers and film industry professionals, and the films selected for screening are then placed into four categories: Short film, Documentary, Animation and Feature film. International Fajr Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival ( fa, جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; fa, جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February and April in Tehran since 1982. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
