Iqbal Hossain (cricketer)
Iqbal Hossain ( – 6 December 2019) was a Bangladeshi freedom fighter and politician from Munshiganj. He was a member of the Jatiya Sangsad representing the Munshiganj-2 constituency during 1988–1990. Biography Hossain took part in the Liberation War of Bangladesh. He was the commander of Louhajong unit of Mujib Bahini in 1971. He also served as the vice chairman of Muktijoddha Sangsad. Munshiganj-2 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2008 by Sagufta Yasmin of the Awami League. Muktijoddha Sangsad
Muktijoddha Sangsad a non-political welfare association of the combatants during the Bangladesh Liberation War formed on 13 February 1972. The organisation has a football club, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, named after itself. History After the Partition of India, East Bengal (present Bangladesh) became a province of Pakistan, later named East Pakistan. Md Korban Ali (1924 – 23 July 1990) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former deputy Speaker of Parliament. Early life Md Korban Ali was born on 28 January 1924 at Kandipara, Lohajang, Munshiganj. In 1947 hr graduated from Dhaka University with a masters in Economics and 1950 completed his law degree there. After which he joined the Dhaka district bar. Mujib Bahini
The Mujib Bahini, also known as Bangladesh Liberation Force (BLF), was an armed force formed during the Bangladesh Liberation War to fight against Pakistan in 1971. The force was mainly composed of activists drawn from the Awami League and its student front, the Chhatra League. At its height, it had reportedly 13,000 members. It was organised with the active assistance of Major General Sujan Singh Uban of the Indian Army.
