Ipswich Town F.C. Under-23s And Academy
Ipswich Town Football Club currently runs a Category Two Academy, with a five-year plan to improve to Category One, which is run by Bryan Klug. The youth teams play their home games at the Ipswich Town Training Centre at Playford Road in Ipswich, Suffolk, while some home games are played at Portman Road. Some of Ipswich's greatest ever players have come through the club's youth system since the 1960s, including Roger Osborne, Mick Mills, Kevin Beattie, Russell Osman, George Burley, John Wark, Terry Butcher and Jason Dozzell. The academy was also very successful during the 1990s, producing a number of first-team players including Richard Wright, Titus Bramble, James Scowcroft and Kieron Dyer. Playford Road (training Ground)
Playford Road, located near Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich is the training ground of Ipswich Town Football Club. History Playford Road was officially opened in 2001. In addition to multiple pitches, the initial development of the training ground also included a dome housing an indoor pitch, with new buildings also being constructed including a canteen, players' lounge, parents' lounge, recreation room, classroom, changing rooms and office accommodation. In 2018, a new state of the art gym was installed at Playford Road. Further development work was done during 2019, with new improvements made to the medical facilities, including the installation of a £90k recovery suite, £100k was also spent on installing new fencing around the complex, as well as general up keeping work. Following the club's sale to US-based group Gamechanger 20 in April 2021, Playford Road also became property of the new owners. James Scowcroft
James Benjamin Scowcroft (born 15 November 1975) is a retired footballer who played as a striker. He is currently a coach for the Ipswich Town academy. Scowcroft began his career at Ipswich Town, graduating from the club's academy. He went on to score over 50 goals and make over 200 appearances for Ipswich, helping the club win promotion to the Premier League in 2000. He joined Leicester City in 2001, spending four seasons at the club, including helping the club return to the Premier League in 2003. He returned to Ipswich on loan during the 2004–05 season before joining Coventry City in 2005. He spent one season at Coventry before leaving to join Crystal Palace in 2006. He spent three seasons at Crystal Palace. In 2009 he joined Leyton Orient, spending one season with the club. After his release from Leyton Orient in 2010, Scowcroft joined hometown club Bury Town. Matthew James Ward (born 16 August 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Braintree Town on loan from club Ipswich Town. Career Ward joined the Academy at Ipswich Town from Wroxham in 2020. He had scored three goals in five games for Wroxham in the Eastern Counties Football League during the abandoned 2020–21 season. In March 2021, a deal was agreed "in principle" for him to sign his first professional contract with Ipswich Town the following season. He made his first-team debut on 27 November 2022, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute for Gassan Ahadme in a 4–0 win over Buxton in the FA Cup. Yeovil ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of South Somerset, England. The population of Yeovil at the last census (2011) was 45,784. More recent estimates show a population of 48,564.
