Daniel Robison
Daniel Julian Robison (born 1960) is an American academic administrator. Education Robison obtained a bachelor's degree in forestry and a master's degree in silviculture and forest influences at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry before completing a doctorate in entomology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1993. Career Robison taught at North Carolina State University for fifteen years, serving for three years as associate dean for research in the College of Natural Resources before leaving for West Virginia University in 2012, where he was dean of the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design and director of the Agriculture and Forestry Experiment Station. Ames () is a city in Story County, Iowa, United States, located approximately north of Des Moines in central Iowa. Iowa State University College of Engineering is one of eight colleges of Iowa State University of Science and Technology in Ames, Iowa. The University was founded in 1858 as the Iowa Agricultural College with classes in agriculture and mechanical arts, now called engineering. In 1898, the school was renamed as "Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts—Science with Practice", with divisions in agriculture, veterinary science, engineering, and science and philosophy. Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1879, and is the oldest veterinary college in the United States. Iowa State has graduated 6,400 veterinarians and is one of the largest veterinary research facilities in the nation. History Officially formed in 1879, Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine can trace its history back to the school's founding in 1858, when state legislator's specified that veterinary studies would be included in the subjects of instruction.
