Romaniţa Iordache
ACCEPT is a non-governmental organization that advocates for the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Romania. It is based in Bucharest and also acts as the Romanian representative at ILGA-Europe. The organisation also advocates on behalf of individuals with HIV-AIDS and carries out several programs to encourage safe sex. ACCEPT was founded in 1996. At the time, the Article 200 from the Romanian legislation was in effect, which criminalised same-sex relationships and contributed to human rights violations, including police abuse against LGBT people. The main aim of ACCEPT, early in its history, was to lobby and campaign against this piece of legislation. ACCEPT had a decisive position in the repeal of Article 200 in 2001. Vasile Iordache (born 9 October 1950) is a Romanian former football goalkeeper and current assistant coach at Steaua București, being responsible with goalkeepers' training. Career As a goalkeeper, Iordache played for FC Politehnica Iași (between 1969 and 1971), Steaua București (1972–1984) and FC Brașov (1984–1986) when he also was assistant coach. He won 23 caps for Romania between 1976 and 1984. After the game against England played on 29 April 1981, when he kept the goal safe for the whole 90 minutes of the game, he was named "The hero of the Wembley". He represented his country at the 1984 UEFA European Championship in France. In 1986 joins again the squad of Steaua București as goalkeepers' coach, but leaves the club after four years when is named head coach of U Cluj, only to return to Steaua București as assistant coach one year later. Toni Iordache (17 December 1942 – February 1988) was a Romani-Romanian '' lăutar'' and one of the most famous ''cimbalom'' (Romanian: ''ţambal'') players in the world. He was nicknamed ''the God of the Cimbalom'' and ''Paganini of the cimbalom''. Early life Toni was born in Bâldana village, near Bucharest, and began learning the instrument from his father when he was four. Some years later his family would move to Bucharest in the Herăstrău neighborhood, where many famous ''lăutari'' lived. Kumm is a Romanian alternative rock band formed in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, Romania in 1997. The band has experienced several line-up changes, with guitarist Eugen Nuțescu and keyboardist Kovács András being the only remaining members from the first line-up.
