Ionikos Lamias B.C. was a Greek professional basketball club based in Lamia (city), Lamia, Greece. In 2014, the club merged with Esperos Lamia. History In 2006, Ionikos Lamias was promotion and relegation, promoted to the Greek A2 Basketball League, Greek A2 League. In the 2005–06 season, Ionikos managed to make it to the final 8 round of the Greek Basketball Cup, Greek Cup, before being eliminated from the cup tournament by AEK Athens BC, AEK Athens. Chalkiopoulio Sports Hall
The Chalkiopoulio Sports Hall or Lamia Arena (alternate spellings: Halkiopouleio, Halkiopoulio, Chalkiopouleio) is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena that is located in the city of Lamia, Greece. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,000 people. The indoor arena is part of the Lamia Sports Center, which also features indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a association football, football field, and outside basketball courts. The indoor arena is able to host basketball, volleyball, and Team handball, handball matches and it is owned by the municipality of Lamia. Lamia ( el, Λαμία, ''Lamía'', ) is a city in central Greece. The city dates back to antiquity, and is today the capital of the regional unit of Phthiotis and of the Central Greece region (comprising five regional units). In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. The Greek Basketball Cup or Hellenic Basketball Cup (Greek language, Greek: Κύπελλο Ελλάδος καλαθοσφαίρισης ανδρών) is the top-tier level annual pro basketball national cup competition in Greece. Konstantinos "Kostas" Kakaroudis ( el, Κωνσταντίνος "Κώστας" Κακαρούδης; born 2 May 1983) is a Greek professional basketball player who last played for Iraklis of the Greek Basket League.
