Ioannis Dimakopoulos (basketball)
Ioannis Dimakopoulos ( el, Ιωάννης Δημακόπουλος; born 7 November 1994) is a Greek-Australian professional basketball player for the Joondalup Wolves of the NBL1 West. Listed as 7'2" (2.18 m), he plays the center position. Early life Dimakopoulos was born in Patras, Greece. He played for the junior teams of Panathinaikos between 2008 and 2012. He participated in the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2012, Dimakopoulos moved to the United States to attend Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, California. He was a 2013 McDonald's All-American nominee. College career After high school, Dimakopoulos played four years of NCAA Division I college basketball for the UC Irvine Anteaters. Joondalup Wolves is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Wanneroo Basketball Association (WBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in the Joondalup/Wanneroo region. The Wolves play their home games at HBF Arena. 2020–21 Dutch Basketball League
The 2020–21 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 61st season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The season started on 3 October 2020 and ended on 27 May 2021. It was the first season after the 2019–20 season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league expanded to 12 teams with the addition of Yoast United, Almere Sailors and The Hague Royals. This marked the highest number of teams since the 2007–08 season. The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Since 2021, the league has been replaced by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. The league had a closed system: to participate, a team has to have enough money and potential.
