Invertigo
Invertigo were an Australian four-piece pop, rock group active in the early 2000s. They originally formed as Vertigo in 1996, by the three Leigh brothers: Gerry (born 10 May 1966) on guitar, James (born 1 December 1967) on keyboards and Vince (born 19 November 1965) on drums (the latter two are former members of Pseudo Echo); together with Hugh Wilson on lead vocals. They had a top 40 hit on the ARIA Singles Chart with "Forever Lately" and released an album before disbanding in 1999. The Leigh brothers formed Invertigo in 2000 with Christian Argenti (born 3 January 1975) on lead vocals. Their highest charting single, "Chances Are..." , reached No. 19 and their sole album, '' Forum'', peaked at No. 11. That group broke up in 2003. ''Forum'' is an album by Australian guitar pop group Invertigo. The album was released on 16 July 2001 with some tracks recorded in the previous year. Christian Argenti
Christian Argenti (born 3 January 1975 in Fitzroy, Australia), is an Australian singer and radio presenter. Invertigo Argenti rose to prominence as lead singer of Australian band Invertigo who had the Australian ARIA chart hits "Desensitized" (June 2000) and "Chances Are" (November 2000) and the band's only album to date ''Forum'' (July 2001). Invertigo signed a much publicised worldwide recording deal with the Atlantic recording label in the United States in 1999, but after receiving a disappointing response from American radio with "Desensitized" and only moderate success with "Chances Are", were dropped by the label in late 2001. Christian Argenti left Invertigo in February 2003 and has worked as a songwriter and session vocalist since, with credits including the soundtrack for the 2006 Australian film ''BoyTown'' (starring Mick Molloy and Glenn Robbins) as well as a string of albums for Australian and overseas artists. Pseudo Echo are an Australian new wave band that formed in 1982 by founding mainstay Brian Canham on vocals, guitar and keyboards. Other original members were Pierre Gigliotti (as Pierre Pierre) on bass keyboards and bass guitar, and Tony Lugton on keyboards. Later members included Anthony Argiro on drums, James Leigh on keyboards and his brother, Vince Leigh on drums. In the 1980s, Pseudo Echo had Australian top 20 hits with "Listening", " A Beat for You", " Don't Go", "Love an Adventure", " Living in a Dream" and their cover of "Funky Town" (originally by Lipps Inc.), which peaked at No. 1 in 1986. APRA Music Awards Of 2001
The APRA Music Awards of 2001 were a group of awards given on 28 May 2001, as one in the series of APRA Awards. These are presented annually by Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS). Only one classical music award was available in 2001: Most Performed Contemporary Classical Composition. Pop Rock
