An invasion is a military offensive in which large numbers of combatants of one geopolitical entity aggressively enter territory owned by another such entity, generally with the objective of either: conquering; liberating or re-establishing control or authority over a territory; forcing the partition of a country; altering the established government or gaining concessions from said government; or a combination thereof. An invasion can be the cause of a war, be a part of a larger strategy to end a war, or it can constitute an entire war in itself. WWF Invasion (also typeset as InVasion) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). It took place on July 22, 2001, at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. This event was initially planned to be the fourth Fully Loaded PPV, as it was advertised at the King of the Ring event, which immediately preceded Invasion, although the decision to replace Fully Loaded was made in May. Invasion was the first pay-per-view to feature the ongoing Invasion storyline, which featured wrestlers from the WWF taking on The Coalition, a combined force of wrestlers from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), later known as The Alliance. ''Invasion!'' was a series created by Pat Mills and mostly written by Gerry Finley-Day that appeared in the first 51 editions of the weekly comic '' 2000 AD''. The series introduced the character of Bill Savage, a classic anti-authoritarian character of the type which Mills is best known for. A prequel, ''Disaster 1990'', was published in 1979. The series continued in sequels under the title ''Savage'', beginning in 2004, by Pat Mills and Charlie Adlard. ''Invasion!'' was a three issue comic book limited series and crossover event published in late 1988-early 1989 by DC Comics. It was plotted by Keith Giffen, and ties up a great many plotlines from various Giffen-created DC series, including ''Omega Men'', ''Justice League International'', and ''Legion of Super-Heroes''. A trade paperback collection of the three issues was released on September 3, 2008. The series was scripted by Bill Mantlo; it was his first work for DC after a long career at Marvel Comics. The ''Foreigner'' series is a science fiction book series set in a fictional universe created by American writer C. J. Cherryh. The series centers on the descendants of a ship lost in transit from Earth en route to found a new space station. It consists of a series of semi-encapsulated trilogy arcs (or sequences) that focus on the life of Bren Cameron, the human ''paidhi'', a translator-diplomat to the court of the ruling atevi race.
