Intrada is an American record company based in Oakland, California, founded by Douglass Fake (1952-2024). The company specializes in movie and television soundtracks, notably those by the late Jerry Goldsmith. Intrada was founded in 1985 by producer/owner Fake in San Francisco, California. It relocated to Oakland, California at the turn of the millennium and expanded operations, increasing the volume of albums released and adding Roger Feigelson as Director of Business Operations. In addition to standard soundtrack releases, Intrada features The Excalibur Collection, a series of world premiere re-recordings of film scores, reconstructed and performed by world-renown orchestras as well as a series of limited-edition historic soundtracks, produced in cooperation with film studios and the American Federation of Musicians. A prelude ( or '; ; ; ) is a short piece of music, the form of which may vary from piece to piece. While, during the Baroque era, for example, it may have served as an introduction to succeeding movements of a work that were usually longer and more complex, it may also have been a stand-alone piece of work during the Romantic era. It generally features a small number of rhythmic and melodic motifs that recur through the piece. Stylistically, the prelude is improvisatory in nature. The term may also refer to an overture, particularly to those seen in an opera or an oratorio. Basil Poledouris
Basil Konstantine Poledouris (; August 21, 1945 – November 8, 2006) was an American composer, conductor, and orchestrator of film and television scores, best known for his long-running collaborations with directors John Milius and Paul Verhoeven. Among his works are scores for the films ''Conan the Barbarian'' (1982), '' Red Dawn'' (1984), ''Iron Eagle'' (1986), ''RoboCop'' (1987), '' The Hunt for Red October'' (1990), ''Free Willy'' (1993), ''Starship Troopers'' (1997) and ''Les Misérables'' (1998). Bruce Broughton
Bruce Harold Broughton (born March 8, 1945) is an American orchestral composer of television, film, and video game scores and concert works. He has composed several highly acclaimed soundtracks over his extensive career and has contributed many pieces to music archives, including the 1994 version of the 20th Century Fox fanfare with short versions for 20th Century Fox Television and Foxstar Productions and conducting the Cinergi Pictures logo composed by Jerry Goldsmith. He has won ten Emmy Awards and has been nominated once for the Academy Award for Best Original Score. Broughton is currently a lecturer in composition at UCLA. The Untold Story
''The Untold Story'' is a 1993 Hong Kong crime-horror film directed by Herman Yau and starring Danny Lee and Anthony Wong, with the former also serving as the film's producer. The film is based on the " Eight Immortals Restaurant murders" that took place on 4 August 1985 in the Hei Sha Wan section of Areia Preta, Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Portuguese Macau. While the massacre involving a family of 10 did occur at the restaurant, the alleged cannibalism is sensationalism inferred from the incomplete discovery of the victims' corpse, only finding limbs, and that there was a lack of telltale smell of decomposition despite the summer tropical heat. Hugo Wilhelm Friedhofer (May 3, 1901 – May 17, 1981) was an American composer and cellist best known for his motion picture scores. Biography Hugo Wilhelm Friedhofer was born in San Francisco, California, United States. His father, Paul, was a cellist trained in Dresden, Germany; his mother, Eva König, was born in Germany. Friedhofer began playing cello at the age of 13. After taking lessons in harmony and counterpoint at University of California, Berkeley, he was employed as a cellist for the People's Symphony Orchestra. James Horner
James Roy Horner (August 14, 1953 – June 22, 2015) was an American film composer. He worked on more than 160 film and television productions between 1978 and 2015.
