Into The White
''Into the White'' (also known as ''Comrade'', ''Lost in the Snow'' and ''Cross of Honour'' in the United Kingdom) is a 2012 film set during the Second World War and directed by Petter Næss. It is inspired by and loosely based on real-life events that occurred in Norway during the war. ''Into the White'' was written by Ole Meldgaard, Dave Mango and Petter Næss and directed by Næss. David Kross
David Kross (born 4 July 1990) is a German actor. He began his career at a young age with a small role in the 2002 film ''Hilfe, ich bin ein Junge'' and worked sporadically, mainly focusing on his school work. In 2008, he won the starring role of Michael Berg in the film ''The Reader''. For his part, he was nominated for various awards and went on to win the Sierra Award at the Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards for Youth in Film. Kross has since worked in both German and English speaking film roles, including ''War Horse'', '' Race'' and '' Into the White''. Petter Næss
Petter Næss (born 14 March 1960 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian actor and film director. His first film as a director was the comedy '' Absolutt blåmandag'' in 1999. Næss is best known for his work directing two of the three films about Ingvar Ambjørnsen's Elling character, '' Elling'' (2000), which was nominated for the foreign language film Oscar and '' Elsk meg i morgen'' (Love Me Tomorrow), (2005), in addition to '' Bare Bea'' (2003), '' Mozart and the Whale'' (2005) and '' Hoppet'' (''The Jump'', 2007) in Sweden. Obergefreiter (''abbr.'' OGefr.) is an enlisted rank of the German and Swiss militaries which dates from the 19th century. In today's Bundeswehr, every ''Gefreiter'' is normally promoted ''Obergefreiter'' after six months. The NATO-Code is OR-3 which would make ''Obergefreiter'' the equivalent to private / airman / seaman first class in most forces or, e.g., lance corporal in the Australian/New Zealand Forces. Vickers Wellington
The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engined, long-range medium bomber. It was designed during the mid-1930s at Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey. Led by Vickers-Armstrongs' chief designer Rex Pierson; a key feature of the aircraft is its geodetic airframe fuselage structure, which was principally designed by Barnes Wallis. Development had been started in response to Air Ministry Specification B.9/32, issued in the middle of 1932, for a bomber for the Royal Air Force. This specification called for a twin-engined day bomber capable of delivering higher performance than any previous design.
