Intervals (See You Next Tuesday Album)
''Intervals'' is the second studio album by See You Next Tuesday. It was set to be released on October 14, but was pushed back to October 21, 2008 by Ferret. The album shows the band progressing towards an overall death metal sound, rather than continue to showcase the more predominant metalcore influence of their previous releases. See You Next Tuesday (band)
See You Next Tuesday is an American deathcore band from Bay City, Michigan. They were signed to Ferret Music, Ferret Records, an independent record label based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, New Brunswick, New Jersey. The group released two full-length studio albums through Ferret before disestablishing in 2009 due to financial problems and personal overtures. On May 22, 2015, they announced that they would make a one-off appearance to perform at Don't Call It A Fest II on September 12, 2015. Following the performance, the band announced it would extend the reunion and would be reforming. History See You Next Tuesday was formed in Bay City, Michigan, in February 2004, the band originally started out as a joke, but when the group found their early live performances went well, they began to take their music seriously. Deathcore
Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore/hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore itself emerged in the early 2000s and gained prominence beginning in the mid-2000s within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California (mostly the Coachella Valley), which are home to many notable bands and various festivals. Mathcore
Mathcore is a subgenre of hardcore punk and metalcore influenced by post-hardcore, extreme metal and math rock that developed during the 1990s. Bands in the genre emphasize complex and fluctuant rhythms through the use of irregular time signatures, polymeters, syncopations and tempo changes. Early mathcore lyrics were addressed from a realistic worldview and with a pessimistic, defiant, resentful or sarcastic point of view. In the 1990s, the hardcore punk scene started to embrace extreme metal openly. It also started to become highly ideological, with most of the popular bands being part of subcultures. Ferret Records
Ferret Music was an American independent record label turned Warner Music Group subsidiary, founded in 1996. The label is owned by NORA's vocalist, Carl Severson, and based in West Windsor, New Jersey. Ferret recently started an imprint called New Weathermen Records. Warner Music Group's Alternative Distribution Alliance acquired a stake in Ferret Music in August, 2006, and as a result is currently distributed by Fontana Distribution, Alternative Distribution Alliance and eOne Music. As of September 12, 2007, Ferret partnered with an uprising extreme metal and hardcore punk label out of the UK, Siege of Amida Records (S.O.A.R.). S.O.A.R will retain A&R responsibilities. ''Parasite'' is the debut studio album by See You Next Tuesday, it was released on April 3, 2007 on the indie label Ferret. It is also the first release by the band with vocalist Chris Fox. All the song titles (excluding "Paraphilia" and both parts of "Pogonotrophy") are quotes from movies and television shows. Background Recording To prepare for the album, See You Next Tuesday booked three weeks studio time at Planet Red Studios in Richmond, Virginia. Eight days into the recording process the drums and guitars were completely finished, but a computer crash wiped all the data, which forced the band to essentially record the album from scratch a second time. MetalSucks is a heavy metal music-themed news website. The site features reviews, interviews, information on latest metal releases and blog-like posts from the writers, most notably Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. History The site was founded in December 2006 by authors Ben Umanov and Matthew Goldenberg who use the pen names Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. In April 2009, MetalSucks was awarded Metal Hammer's Web of Death Award for "Best Reviews" for its "honest, insightful, unpretentious – and fun – reviews." On October 4, 2009, one of the writers for MetalSucks was accused of leaking the album ''Axe to Fall'' by Converge onto the internet prior to its official release. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Fit for an Autopsy is an American deathcore band from Jersey City, New Jersey, formed in 2008. The band consists of guitarists Pat Sheridan, Will Putney and Tim Howley, drummer Josean Orta, vocalist Joe Badolato, and bassist Peter "Blue" Spinazola.
