Interstate 695 (I-695) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in Washington, D.C. It is also known as the Southeast Freeway. It travels from an interchange with I-395 south of the United States Capitol building east then south across the 11th Street Bridges to an intersection with I-295 and District of Columbia Route 295 (DC 295) in Anacostia. Access also exists from eastbound I-695 to Pennsylvania Avenue at Barney Circle, just northwest of the John Philip Sousa Bridge. Stub ramps at Pennsylvania Avenue, once meant to continue the freeway (as part of I-295) to I-95 and U.S. Route 50 northeast of Union Station, now provide access to Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. Interstate 695 (I-695) is a full beltway Interstate Highway extending around Baltimore, Maryland, United States. I-695 is officially designated the McKeldin Beltway, but is colloquially referred to as either the Baltimore Beltway or 695. The route is an auxiliary route of I-95, intersecting that route southwest of Baltimore near Arbutus and northeast of the city near White Marsh. It serves as a connector between I-95 (Bruckner Expressway) and I-295 ( Cross Bronx Expressway) near the Throgs Neck Bridge toward Queens and Long Island. I-695 is named the Throgs Neck Expressway. Route description I-695 begins at exit 10 on the Cross Bronx Expressway Extension (I-295) in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx. The highway heads to the northwest, passing through the western fringe of Weir Creek Park before descending into a cut and proceeding into Throgs Neck.
