Interrobang
The interrobang (), also known as the interabang (often represented by any of ?!, !?, ?!? or !?!), is an unconventional punctuation mark used in various written languages and intended to combine the functions of the question mark, or interrogative point, and the exclamation mark, or exclamation point, known in the jargon of printers and programmers as a "bang". The glyph is a ligature of these two marks and was first proposed in 1962 by Martin K. Speckter. Application A sentence ending with an interrobang asks a question in an excited manner, expresses excitement, disbelief or confusion in the form of a question, or asks a rhetorical question. ''Interrobang'' is the eighth studio album by American rock band Bayside. Background In September 2018, the group released ''Acoustic Volume 2'', which featured acoustic re-workings of their back catalogue. It was promoted with a two-leg US tour: first leg in November and December, with the second in January and February 2019. Release On August 20, 2019, the band released the single "Prayers". On September 20, ''Interrobang'' was announced for release the following month. Alongside this, a music video was released for the title-track, directed by Megan Thompson. The group held a battle-of-the-bands contest where people could vote for locals acts to open for the band on their headlining tour later in the year. On September 27, "Bury Me" was made available for streaming. ''Interrobang'' was released on October 4 through Hopeless Records. In November and December, the group embarked on a headlining US tour. ''Interrobang'' (stylized in all lowercase) is the twelfth studio album by American alternative rock band Switchfoot. It was released on August 20, 2021, through Fantasy Records. A deluxe edition was released digitally on July 8, 2022. Background The band wished to explore themes of disunity and common ground, choosing to work with producer Tony Berg as they felt that the stark difference between their Christian viewpoint and his atheistic viewpoint would lend well to these themes. ''Interrabang'' is a 1969 Italian giallo film directed by Giuliano Biagetti, starring Haydee Politoff and Beba Lončar. The title refers to the "Interrobang" (‽), a punctuation mark that combines a question mark and an exclamation mark, which appears on a necklace worn by Politoff's character Valeria throughout the film. Plot One summer day, famous fashion photographer Fabrizio sails to a Mediterranean small island for a shoot, accompanied by his business partner wife Anna, Israeli model Maregalit, and Anna's sister Valeria. A radio news bulletin reports that an escaped convict has murdered a policeman and is still on the run. The group discover that their boat has run out of fuel, and Fabrizio hitches a ride on a passing speedboat to return to the mainland in order to get a petrol can.
