International ZO Women's Tournament
The International ZO Women's Tournament is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place in late November in Wetzikon, Switzerland ). Swiss law does not designate a ''capital'' as such, but the federal parliament and government are installed in Bern, while other federal institutions, such as the federal courts, are in other cities (Bellinzona, Lausanne, Luzern, Neuchâtel .... The tournament is held in a triple knockout format. The tournament is part of the World Curling Tour. It is traditionally held a week before the European Curling Championships. A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend. Until the 20th century most bonspiels were held outdoors, on a frozen freshwater loch. Today almost all bonspiels are held indoors on specially prepared artificial ice. Mirjam Ott
Mirjam Ott (born 27 January 1972 in Bern, Switzerland) is a retired Swiss curler who lives in Laax, Switzerland. She is the 2012 World Curling Champion skip. She is the skip (captain) of the Swiss Olympic Curling Team. She has participated in several Olympic Games contests and has won numerous awards in many other curling events worldwide. Career Ott won the Olympic silver medal twice; in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (with skip Luzia Ebnöther) and 2006 in Turin (as skip herself), making her the first woman with two Olympic medals in curling. In 2008 the team won the European Championship in Sweden. At the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, her team finished a disappointing fourth place, as Ott's touch completely deserted her late in the semi-final and bronze medal matches. Alina Kovaleva
Alina Romanovna Kovaleva (russian: Алина Романовна Ковалёва; born 18 February 1993) is a Russian curler from Saint Petersburg. Her major achievement to date was winning the 2015 European Curling Championships as alternate. Kovaleva is Merited Master of Sports of Russia (2016). Career Kovaleva practiced curling in her school years in her hometown Slantsy. She then moved to St. Petersburg to the Sports School of Olympic Reserve, No. 2. Anna Kubešková (born 30 October 1989) is a Czech curler from Prague. She currently skips the Czech Republic National team. Career Kubešková represented the Czech Republic at four World Junior Curling Championships (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and at the 2011 Winter Universiade. In women's play, Kubešková first represented her country at the 2010 European Curling Championships, where she led her country to a 12–1 record in the "B" Pool. She again played at the Euros in 2012 playing second for Linda Klimova. The team finished with a 3–7 record in eighth place. Melanie Barbezat (born 10 August 1991) is a Swiss retired curler from Zollikofen. From 2018 to 2022, she played lead for the Silvana Tirinzoni rink that won three consecutive World Women's Curling Championship titles in , and . The team also won the 2019 Champions Cup Grand Slam of Curling event, and competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics where they placed fourth. Lisa Gisler (born 15 March 1994) is a Swiss curler from Olten. Career Gisler first represented Switzerland on the international stage at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics where her team of Michael Brunner, Elena Stern and Romano Meier won the gold medal. In 2014, Gisler was a young ambassador for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Anna Vladimirovna Sidorova (russian: А́нна Влади́мировна Си́дорова; born 6 February 1991) is a Russian curler. She currently skips her own team on the World Curling Tour. Michèle Jäggi (born 22 September 1987) is a Swiss curler. Jäggi has represented Switzerland as a junior curler, and is currently active on the World Curling Tour. Jäggi currently skips her own team. Career Jäggi is a former Swiss junior champion. She first appeared on the international scene at the World Junior Curling Championships in 2006, finishing in fourth place after losing in the semifinals and the bronze medal game. She returned to the World Junior Curling Championships two years after, but failed to make the playoffs, finishing in sixth place. Binia Feltscher (born 13 October 1978 in Chur) is a Switzerland, Swiss retired Curling, curler from Flims. She was the Skip (curling), skip of the 2014 and 2016 World championship curling teams from Switzerland. From 2006 to 2013 she was known as Binia Feltscher-Beeli. Career Feltscher began curling in 1989 and started skipping in 2007. Feltscher was the third of the Swiss team skipped by Mirjam Ott at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where she won a silver medal. With Ott, Feltscher won silver medals at the European Curling Championships in 2004 and 2005 and a bronze in 2006.
