International University of East Africa (IUEA) is a private for non-profit institution in Uganda, is a chartered University by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). In September 2022 the International University of East Africa has been approved for grant of a charter by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). A Charter is the highest license an institution of higher learning can attain from the regulators. And the charter can be granted only by the Head of State on the evidence that the university meets the requirements and standards of academic excellence set by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education and the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, according to section 103(a) of the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act of 2001 as amended; a chartered university means a university that is comparable to a public university. Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile
Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile (27 January 1949 – 23 January 2022) was a Ugandan economist and banker. He served as the governor of the Bank of Uganda, the central bank of Uganda from 2001 until his death on 23 January 2022. Life and career Tumusiime-Mutebile attended Kigezi College Butobere for his O-Level studies (grades S1-S4). He then attended Makerere College School in Kampala, Uganda, for his A-Level studies (grades S5-S6). In 1970, he entered Makerere University, where he was elected president of the university Students' Guild. He was forced to flee Uganda in 1972 after he gave a speech publicly criticizing the expulsion of Asians from the country by Idi Amin. He fled to England via Tanzania, and was able to finish his studies at Durham University, graduating with an upper-second in Economics and Politics. Education In Uganda
The system of education in Uganda has a structure of 7 years of primary education, 6 years of secondary education (divided into 4 years of lower secondary and 2 years of upper secondary school), and 3 to 5 years of post-secondary education. Education in Uganda is administered in English. All through out the levels in the education structure, modules are taught and assessed in English. The government of Uganda recognizes education as a basic human right and continues to strive to provide free primary education to all children in the country. However, issues with funding, teacher training, rural populations, and inadequate facilities continue to hinder the progress of educational development in Uganda. Makindye Division
Makindye Division is one of the five administrative divisions of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the largest city in that country. The city's five divisions are: (a) Kampala Central Division (b) Kawempe Division (c) Lubaga Division (d) Makindye Division and (e) Nakawa Division. Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament, that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council (KCC). Location The headquarters of KCCA are located on Nakasero Hill in the central business district of Kampala. Bobi Wine
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, known by his stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, singer, and actor. He is a former Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda's Central Region. He also leads the National Unity Platform political party. In June 2019, he announced his candidacy for the 2021 Ugandan presidential election.
