International Global Atmospheric Chemistry
The International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) project is a non-profit organization created in the late 1980s to address growing international concerns over rapid changes observed in Earth's atmosphere. It developed under joint sponsorship of the Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution ( CACGP) of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS), and the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme The International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) was a research programme that ran from 1987 to 2015 dedicated to studying the phenomenon of global change. Its primary focus was coordinating "international research on global-scale and region ... (IGBP). External links More about IGAC Atmospheric chemistry {{environmental-org-stub ...

International Association Of Meteorology And Atmospheric Sciences
International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS) is a non-governmental organization aimed to promote and advance a number of atmospheric sciences through conferences, workshops and publications. IAMAS and its commissions bring together experts from around the world to enhance scientific understanding and prediction of the atmosphere’s behavior and its connections to and effects on other components of the Earth’s geophysical system. IAMAS is one of eight associations of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). It was created at the First IUGG General Assembly in 1922 as the Meteorology Section and was renamed to International Association and of Meteorology in 1957. Since 1993, it holds its current name – the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences. IAMAS Commissions IAMAS consists of ten commissions: * The International Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution (iCACGP) * The International ...

International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme
The International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) was a research programme that ran from 1987 to 2015 dedicated to studying the phenomenon of global change. Its primary focus was coordinating "international research on global-scale and regional-scale interactions between Earth's biological, chemical and physical processes and their interactions with human systems." The International Council of Scientific Unions, a coordinating body of national science organizations, launched IGBP. It looked at the total Earth system, the changes that are occurring, and the manner in which changes are influenced by human actions. IGBP aimed to describe and understand how the physical, chemical and biological processes regulate the Earth system. It also sought to increase knowledge of how humans are influencing global processes, such as the carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, sulfur cycle, water cycle and phosphorus cycle. "It delivers scientific knowledge to help human societies develop in harmony ...
