International Film Festival Of Kerala
The International Film Festival of Kerala (abbreviated as IFFK) is a film festival held annually in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, India. This film festival started in 1996 and is hosted by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala. The festival is held in November or December every year and is acknowledged as one of the leading cultural events in India. Several national and international films have their premiers at the IFFK each year. Competition section is limited to 14 selected films produced in Asia, Africa or Latin America. The festival also has a section devoted to Malayalam cinema. On the lines of the IFFK, the Chalachitra Academy also organises the ''International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala''. Kerala State Chalachitra Academy
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. It was formed on 1 November 1956, following the passage of the States Reorganisation Act, by combining Malayalam-speaking regions of the erstwhile regions of Cochin, Malabar, South Canara, and Thiruvithamkoor. Spread over , Kerala is the 21st largest Indian state by area. It is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea to the west. Nabil Ayouch
Nabil Ayouch (born 1 April 1969) is a Franco-Moroccan television and film director, producer, and writer. His films have screened at international film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival and Montreal World Film Festival. Early life He was born in 1969 in Paris, to a Moroccan father, and a French mother of Tunisian-Jewish descent. His brother is fellow director Hicham Ayouch. After the divorce of his parents, he spent a large part of his childhood in the suburb of Sarcelles, visiting Casablanca in the summers. Lucía Puenzo (born 28 November 1976, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine author, screenwriter and film director. She is the daughter of the Oscar-winning film director, producer, and screenplay writer, Luis Puenzo. Early life Puenzo studied literature at the University of Buenos Aires and proceeded to attend the ENERC, film school of the National Film Institute from Argentina (INCAA), where she graduated. ''XXY'' is a 2007 Argentine drama film written and directed by Lucía Puenzo and starring Ricardo Darín, Valeria Bertuccelli, Inés Efron and Martín Piroyansky. Abu Sayeed (born 1962) is a Bangladeshi film director, screenwriter, and television producer. As a filmmaker he has made six full-length features and two short films, some of which have received 6 national and 4 international awards. Biography Sayeed graduated from United High School, Naogan, and then attended Government Azizul Haque College. In 1987, at the age of 25, Abu Sayeed made his first film, the short ''Aborton''. It was released the following year and won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Short Film. Sayeed started work on his second short film, ''Dhushar Jatra'', in 1989. ''Nirontor'' (in English as ''Forever Flows'') is a 2006 Bangladeshi drama film directed by Abu Sayeed. Semih Kaplanoğlu (born 4 April 1963) is a Turkish screenwriter, film director and producer. Li Shaohong (born 7 July 1955) is a Chinese film and television director and producer. She is considered a member of the Fifth Generation movement, and China's top woman director. Her films have won multiple awards in China and abroad, including the Golden Montgolfiere at the 1992 Three Continents Festival (for ''Bloody Morning''), and the Silver Bear at the 1995 Berlin International Film Festival (for '' Blush'').
