International Dance Council
International Dance Council (CID, in French: Conseil international de la danse ） is the umbrella organization for all forms of dance in the world. It was founded in 1973 at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris "under the auspices of UNESCO as a forum for the exchange of ideas and developments in dance". As a consultative body of UNESCO, the CID advises UNESCO, governments, and various national and international institutions in the field of dance. Considered one of the most important international institutions for the development of dance worldwide, the CID is known as "the United Nations of Dance." It is recognized by the UNESCO system, by governments of various countries and regions, and by international organizations. United Nations Postal Administration
The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) is the postal agency of the United Nations. It issues postage stamps and postal stationery, denominated in United States dollars for the office in New York, in Swiss francs for the office in Geneva and in euros (formerly schillings) for the office in Vienna. As such, UNPA is the only postal authority that issues stamps in three different currencies. The Administration has a dual mandate: first, to disseminate information on the activities and achievements of the United Nations system through the medium of postage stamps, and second, to generate revenue for the organization. International Dance Day is a global celebration of dances promoted by the International Dance Council (CID) and the International Theatre Institute. The Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions is an international treaty adopted in October 2005 in Paris during the 33rd session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In response to the fears that globalization would lead to an increasingly uniform global culture, it allows states to protect cultural diversity and cultural expressions by promoting and defending their own cultural industries.
