International Competition Of Young Conductors Lovro Von Matačić
The International Competition of Young Conductors Lovro von Matačić is being organized by the Lovro and Lilly Matačić Foundation every 4 years in Zagreb (Croatia) and is eligible to conductors under the age of 35. About the Competition In 1995, on the 10th anniversary of maestro Lovro von Matačić's death, the first ''Lovro Matačić International Competition of Young Conductors'' was held. Since then, the event has been attracting the attention of the musical public every four years in autumn, bringing to Croatia's capital young conductors eager to find an incentive at the start of their careers. The candidates send audio and video recordings of their performances in the application. Lovro And Lilly Matačić Foundation
The Lovro and Lilly Matačić Foundation was founded in 1987 according to the will of both, with an aim to improve the skill of exceptionally gifted young conductors, in Croatia and abroad. Eugene Tzigane (IPA – Ju:dʒi:n tsi'ga:n) (real name: Gene McDonough) is a symphonic and operatic conductor. He's serving as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Kuopio Symphony Orchestra in Kuopio, Finland, since 2023. Biography Tzigane was born in Japan. Conducting Competitions
Conducting is the art of directing a musical performance, such as an orchestral or choral concert. It has been defined as "the art of directing the simultaneous performance of several players or singers by the use of gesture." Wong Kah Chun (; born 24 June 1986), also known as Kahchun Wong, is a Singaporean conductor. Biography Wong was born in 1986 to Victor Wong, a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) warrant officer, and Yeo Huay Lan, a childcare teacher. His family lived in a five-room Housing and Development Board, HDB flat in the Jurong West neighborhood of Singapore. Wong performed with the SAF military band during his National service in Singapore, national service and suffered a nerve injury to his lips from over-playing the trumpet. While he was recovering, he started composing and formed a group to perform his compositions. At this point he started considering becoming a professional conductor. Jakub Hrůša
Jakub Hrůša (born 23 July 1981 in Brno), is a Czech conductor. Education Hrůša is the son of the architect Petr Hrůša. Hrůša studied piano and trombone, and developed an interest in conducting, during his years at Gymnázium třída Kapitána Jaroše in Brno. Later he studied conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where his teachers included Jiří Bělohlávek, Radomil Eliška and Leoš Svárovský. In 2000 he participated in the Prague Spring International Music Festival conducting competition.
