International Center For Human Development
The International Center for Human Development (ICHD) ( hy, Մարդկային զարգացման միջազգային կենտրոն) is a think tank and non-governmental organization in Armenia. It was established in March 2000 and is headquartered in Yerevan. History and mission The ICHD undertakes various projects and activities in the areas of regional integration and peacebuilding; civil society strengthening; good governance and transparency; economic development; local governance, migration, primary health care; and culture. The ICHD also supports the European integration of Armenia and seeks to accelerate Armenia’s integration with the European Union. The ICHD supports the goals and initiatives of the Eastern Partnership. The ICHD maintains a partnership agreement with the Armenian Atlantic Association. Non-governmental Organization
A non-governmental organization (NGO) or non-governmental organisation (see spelling differences) is an organization that generally is formed independent from government. They are typically nonprofit entities, and many of them are active in humanitarianism or the social sciences; they can also include clubs and associations that provide services to their members and others. Surveys indicate that NGOs have a high degree of public trust, which can make them a useful proxy for the concerns of society and stakeholders. Potential Enlargement Of The European Union
There are eight recognised candidates for membership of the European Union: Turkey (since 1999), North Macedonia (2005), Montenegro (2010), Serbia (2012), Albania (2014), Moldova (2022), Ukraine (2022), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (2022). Kosovo (whose independence is not recognised by five EU member states) and Georgia formally submitted applications for membership in 2022 and are considered potential candidates by the European Union. Montenegro and Serbia, the most advanced candidates, are expected to join earlier than the others. Due to multiple factors, talks with Turkey are at an effective standstill. Armenia–NATO Relations
Armenia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization have maintained a formal relationship since 1992, when Armenia joined the North Atlantic Cooperation Council. Armenia officially established bilateral relations with NATO in 1994 when it became a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace (PfP) programme. Armenia–European Union Relations
Armenia and the European Union have maintained positive relations over the years. Both parties are connected through the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was signed in 2017. Central Europe
Central Europe is an area of Europe between Western Europe and Eastern Europe, based on a common historical, social and cultural identity.
