International Academy For Systems And Cybernetic Sciences
The International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences (IASCYS) is an honor society initially created by the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR). The academy identifies outstanding scientists in systems and cybernetics and elects them as academicians. The members of the Academy conduct workshops and speak at conferences about advances in the field. Origin In 2010, the International Federation for Systems Research established an international non-profit association called The International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences. For 6 years the IASCYS was governed as an IFSR partner organization, but in 2016 it became an independent organization having its own statutes, rules of procedure and membership criteria. Aims IASCYS was founded to honor and activate outstanding members of the systems and cybernetics community. Jean-Pierre Dupuy
Jean-Pierre Dupuy (born February 20, 1941) is a French engineer and philosopher. Biography Dupuy attended the Ecole polytechnique, where he graduated in 1965 and attended the Ecole des Mines. He was a professor of French and a researcher at the Center for the Study of Language and Information (CSLI) of Stanford University, California. He also taught social and political philosophy and the ethics of science and technology until 2006 at the École Polytechnique. He founded the center of cognitive sciences and epistemology of the Ecole polytechnique (CREA) in 1982 with Jean-Marie Domenach on the basis of preliminary reflections by Jean Ullmo. Klaus Krippendorff (1932–2022) was a communication scholar, social science methodologist, and cyberneticist. and was the Gregory Bateson professor for Cybernetics, Language, and Culture at the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School for Communication. Kyoichi Jim Kijima (木嶋 恭一, born 1951) is a Japanese systems scientist and professor of Decision Systems Science at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Biography Jim Kijima received an M.A. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1976 and a PhD in 1980. Later, in 1988, he spent a year in England to familiarize himself with soft systems engineering.
