Baseball
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Senior League World Series (Asia–Pacific Region)
The Senior League World Series – Asia-Pacific Region (formerly the Far East Region) is one of six international regions that currently send teams to the World Series in Easley, South Carolina. The region's participation in the Senior League World Series (SLWS) dates back to 1972. It has produced the most championships (17) of any region, all won by Taiwan. Taiwan won nine straight titles from 1972–1980, the longest streak for any Little League division. Taiwan has not competed at the Senior League level since 1996. Little League World Series In Japan
Japan first participated in the Little League World Series in 1962. Between 1962 and 2000, Japan participated in the Far East Region of the LLWS. In 2001, the Far East Region was divided into the Asia Region and the Pacific Region. From 2001 to 2006, Japan competed in the Asia Region. In 2007, the Japan Region was created, so that the winner of the Japanese championship receives an automatic berth in the Series. Little League World Series (Asia-Pacific And Middle East Region)
The Asia–Pacific and Middle East Region is a region that competes in the Little League World Series. Asian teams first competed in the LLWS in , when Japanese teams competed in the original Pacific Region (which included Hawaii). In , Japanese teams began competing in the newly created Far East Region. In , the Little League World Series was expanded to sixteen teams, and East Asia was split into two regions – the Pacific (consisting of teams from the Pacific Islands, Indonesia, and Oceania) and Asia (consisting of teams from mainland Asia). The Far East East Region was one of four international regions that competed in the Little League World Series from 1962 to 2000. Far East qualifiers won a record 23 titles — 17 from Taiwan, four from Japan, and two from the South Korea, Republic of Korea.
