Tri-State Transit Authority
The Tri-State Transit Authority (TTA), which markets itself as "THE Transit Authority, is the city bus system in Huntington, West Virginia, and Ironton, Ohio, as well as its suburbs. Its buses range, on the West Virginia side from 21st Street in Kenova, Kenova, WV to Milton, West Virginia, about 20 miles to the east. On the Ohio side the buses range from downtown Ironton to the Huntington suburb of Proctorville, Ohio, which is also a range of about 20 miles. Interchange buses provide links between Huntington, West Virginia, Huntington and Chesapeake, Ohio, and between Ironton and Ashland, Kentucky, where transfers are available to the Ashland Bus System (ABS). However the system does not interchange between the TTA and ABS in Ceredo, West Virginia, even though the buses pass within a few blocks of one another. Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority
The Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority, commonly known as "KRT" is the city bus system for the Charleston, West Virginia, United States metropolitan area. The tax supported system was founded in 1971 after the Greyhound Corporation and the privately owned Charleston Transit Company ceased intra-city bus service following a strike. The system ranges throughout the Charleston metro area, from Montgomery, West Virginia in the south east, about 45 miles west to Nitro, West Virginia. All buses centralize on the former Laidley Street in downtown Charleston, which is now known as the Transit Mall and is restricted to buses only. Teays Valley ( ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Putnam County, West Virginia, United States. The place is divided into the two districts of Teays Valley and Scott Depot. The population was 13,175 at the 2010 census. Teays Valley is part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 287,702. New definitions from February 28, 2013 placed the population at 363,000. This CDP place was named after trapper/hunter Thomas Teays, who spend a considerable amount of time staying here. Geography Teays Valley is located at (38.447204, -81.937324). The Charleston Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of three counties in West Virginia, anchored by the city of Charleston. It is the largest metropolitan area entirely within the state of West Virginia. While the Huntington Metro Area is more populous, it spans three states (West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio), and the core county of the Charleston area, Kanawha County, is more populous than the West Virginia portion of the Huntington area. Charleston is its largest and most populous city in the MSA. Cross Lanes is its most populous census-designated place.
