Intelligence And Security Service Of The Ministry Of Defence (Slovenia)
The Intelligence and Security Service of the Ministry of Defence (ISS MoD) is an agency of the Slovenian government. It reports directly to the Defence Minister, who has the same powers as Director of the Slovene Intelligence and Security Agency (SOVA) or Director General of the Police, in implementing special forms of information collection. The ISS MoD is allowed to independently exchange intelligence with foreign partner services and to directly inform the Prime Minister and President of the Republic about its findings. It has the status of a directorate within the MoD. The Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency ( sl, Slovenska obveščevalno-varnostna agencija; or , ; lit. The prime minister of Slovenia, officially the president of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia ( sl, Predsednik Vlade Republike Slovenije), is the head of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. There have been nine officeholders since the country gained parliamentary democracy in 1989 and independence in 1991. The prime minister of Slovenia is nominated by the president of the republic after consultation with the parties represented in the National Assembly.
