Multiplay (UK) Ltd is a UK-based company which was incorporated in May 1997. Originally founded as a gaming events company, it now specialises in dedicated game servers, working directly with game studios and publishers. The company is owned by Unity Technologies. History Multiplay started as a LAN event organiser in 1999 hosting their first event "Insomnia" in conjunction with Wireplay. The event underwent a name change to i-series for their second event "i2" due to splitting with Wireplay. On 2 December 2013 Multiplay announced the Insomnia event would move to the Ricoh Arena for i51 onwards citing continued growth. The event moved again for i56 onwards, this time to the Birmingham NEC, the UK's largest exhibition centre. Multiplay was sold to GAME in 2015. Stoneleigh Park
Stoneleigh Park, known between 1963 and 2013 as the National Agricultural Centre, is a business park located south-west of the village of Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England. It is home to the Stoneleigh conference and exhibition centre. History The park was once part of the much larger Stoneleigh Abbey estate which was created in 1154 when Henry II granted land in the Forest of Arden to a group of Cistercians monks from Staffordshire. It was separated from the rest of the estate and developed only in 1963 when the Royal Agricultural Society of England decided to permanently base their previous nomadic Royal Show there, after it had been on tour annually since 1839. The popular annual Town and Country Festival started on the site in 1973. A LAN party is a gathering of people with personal computers or compatible game consoles, where a local area network (LAN) connection is established between the devices using a router or switch, primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer video games together. LAN party events differ significantly from LAN gaming centers and Internet cafes in that LAN parties generally require participants to '' bring your own computer'' (BYOC) and are not permanent installations, often taking place in general-use venues or residences. John Peter Bain (8 July 1984 – 24 May 2018), better known as TotalBiscuit ( ; or sometimes The Cynical Brit or TotalHalibut), was an English video gaming commentator and game critic on YouTube. He was known for his role in professional shoutcasting and esports, and also known for his gaming commentary audio work on WCradio.com. According to ''Eurogamer'', he obtained a large following due to his video commentary on newly developed indie games and analysis of gaming news.
