Inside Love
"Inside Love" is a song by the British AOR band Seven, released in 1990 as their debut single. It was written by Keith McFarlane and Simon LeFevre, and produced by John Parr. "Inside Love" reached No. 78 in the UK, and remained in the Top 100 for four weeks. Seven had secured a contract with Polydor in 1989. They produced two singles from the label; "Inside Love" and "Man With a Vision". Both were produced by Parr. A promotional video was filmed to promote the single. "Inside Love" was released by Polydor in the UK only on 7" vinyl, 12" vinyl and CD. The B-side, "Till Then", was also written by Macfarlane and Lefevre, and produced by Tim Lewis and Mike Parker. The 12" vinyl and CD formats of the single also featured an extended version of "Inside Love". The lack of success of "Inside Love" and "Man With a Vision" led to the band being dropped by Polydor and subsequently splitting. Seven (band)
Seven is an English AOR band formed in Bournemouth in the 1990s, who recorded two singles with Polydor Records both having minor success within the UK. In 2014 a tribute album of the original unreleased material was released to critical acclaim, followed two years later by a studio album of new material. History The band formed in 1989, consisting of Mick Devine (lead vocals), Keith McFarlane (guitar/vocals), Pat Davey (bass guitar/vocals), Simon Lefevre (keyboards/vocals) and Austin Lane (drums). The band formed from the remnants of the South African band "Face to Face". McFarlane and LeFevre (including his brother John LeFevre) found considerable success with "Face to Face" over a period of 18 months. The band released a number of singles and one album, before the band split up. At the same time Devine was playing drums in the band UC27. Album-oriented rock (AOR, originally called album-oriented radio) is an FM radio format created in the United States in the 1970s that focuses on the full repertoire of rock albums and is currently associated with classic rock. Album-oriented radio was originally established by U.S. radio stations dedicated to playing album tracks by rock artists from the hard rock to progressive rock genres. In the mid-1970s, AOR was characterized by a layered, mellifluous sound and sophisticated production with considerable dependence on melodic hooks. Using research and formal programming to create an album rock format with greater commercial appeal, the AOR format achieved tremendous popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. John Parr
John Stephen Parr (born 18 November 1952) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter, best known for his 1985 single "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)", charting at number one in the US and number six in the UK, and for his 1984 US number-six rock single " Naughty Naughty". He has written and performed ten major motion-picture theme songs, including ''Three Men and a Baby'' and '' The Running Man''. Parr has sold over 10 million albums and was nominated for a Grammy award for "St. Elmo's Fire" in 1985. Biography Parr was born in Worksop, England, in 1952.
