Ingram Wilcox is a British quizzer, who became the fifth person to win the £1,000,000 prize on '' Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'' in the UK, and the fifth legitimate contestant to do so. Quiz Appearances Mastermind In 1980, Wilcox reached the final of '' Mastermind,'' but came third (out of four) with 27 points, beaten by Fred Housego who won with 33 points. Wilcox's specialist subject was "The Crusades 1095–1192" in both his heat and the final, while in the semi-final he chose "Mammals". Fifteen to One Wilcox appeared on ''Fifteen to One'' in both 1995 and 1996, including two grand finals, and was a witness to an outtake where host William G. Patrick Gibson (born 19 July 1961) is an Irish quizzer. On 24 April 2004 he became the fourth contestant to win the £1m jackpot on the quiz show ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?''. He is a multiple world champion in quizzing and one of the world's most successful quiz players. He is best known for winning several quiz shows and being a panellist on '' Eggheads''. ''Brain of Britain'' is a BBC radio general knowledge quiz, broadcast on BBC Radio 4. History It began as a slot in ''What Do You Know?'' in 1953. The main part of the show was the "Brain of Britain" quiz itself, originally called "Ask Me Another". There were also several other quizzes on the show, most of which were eventually sidelined to allow "Brain of Britain" a longer running time, though the popular write-in competition "Beat the Brains" is still played as part of ''Brain of Britain'' today. William Thomas Wells, better known as Bombardier Billy Wells (31 August 1889 – 12 June 1967), was an English heavyweight boxer. Fighting under the name "Bombardier Billy Wells", he was British and British Empire Champion from 1911 until 1919, defending his title fourteen times. In 1911 he became the first Heavyweight to win the Lonsdale Belt, which had been introduced for British champions at all weights in 1909. Phil Grant held his Lonsdale belt when he was in the TA.
