Ingeus Limited is a British-based, Australian provider of employment and health programmes, services for young people, training and skills support, Labour hire and probation services. It is notable in part, for being founded by Thérèse Rein, the wife of the 26th Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd. History Ingeus originated as a rehabilitation company based in Australia in 1989, named Work Directions. It then grew to become an international provider of employment services. In 2002 the company was rebranded as Ingeus. The company has 150 offices and more than 1,700 employees. It operates in the UK, France, Sweden, Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. Thérèse Rein
Thérèse Virginia Rein (born 17 July 1958) is an Australian entrepreneur who is the founder of Ingeus, an international employment and business psychology services company. Rein is the wife of Kevin Rudd, who was the Prime Minister of Australia, holding the office from 2007 to 2010 and then again in 2013. She was the first Australian prime minister's wife to remain in the paid workforce while her husband was in office. She was awarded the Human Rights Medal by the Australian Human Rights Commission in December 2010 for her long-term dedication to human rights, especially the rights of people with disability. Work Programme
The Work Programme (WP) was a UK government welfare-to-work programme introduced in Great Britain in June 2011. It was the flagship welfare-to-work scheme of the 2010–2015 UK coalition government. Under the Work Programme the task of getting the long-term unemployed into work was outsourced to a range of public sector, private sector and third sector organisations. The scheme replaced a range of schemes which existed under previous New Labour governments including Employment Zones, New Deal, Flexible New Deal and the now abolished Future Jobs Fund scheme which aimed to tackle youth unemployment. In Australia, labour hire is referred to by the legal term of art labour hire arrangement, and refers to the employment practice of an employer supplying its employees to another workplace, for profit. Labour hire arrangements often overlap with, but are distinct from the practice of temporary staffing. Kevin Michael Rudd (born 21 September 1957) is an Australian former politician and diplomat who served as the 26th prime minister of Australia from 2007 to 2010 and again from June 2013 to September 2013, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).
